Surat, May 14: A 23 year female tutor in Gujurat, who had eloped with her 13-year boy student, has undergone a Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) of her 20-week fetus amid jail term.
Following permissions from the competent authorities to abort her pregnancy, a team of gynecologists scheduled a DNC procedure to terminate the baby.
However, the cops are yet to ascertain who the father is, even as a sample from the fetus was obtained for DNA testing.
The woman was initially booked at Punagam police station after she disappeared with her student on April 25. She was arrested under the Pocso Act on March 30 near the Gujarat-Rajasthan border.
Investigation revealed that the woman had allegedly engaged in physical relations with the student at her home and other places.
Subsequently, she disappeared with the boy all of a sudden with no information to the boy’s parents. After all of their sincere endeavors failed, the bereaved parents lodged a complaint with the police alleging kidnap of the lad by his female tutor.
Police after a week-long manhaunts nabbed the tutor and rescued the boy from her grips. Meanwhile, the minor was handed over to his parents whereas the accued girl was sent to judicial custody. Here, she was deteted to be a 20-week pregnant that put the jail authorities in soup.
