Baripada, Aug 9: Continuing their drive against poachers and illegal arms racket, police have seized 165 guns and arrested 21 poachers in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, informed Mayurbhanj Superintendent of Police Batula Gangadhar on Wednesday.
Mayurbhanj SP Batula Gangadhar said following reliable inputs, the police officials launched search operations at multiple locations in 14 police jurisdictions and arrested the poachers in this connection.
During the search, the team seized 165 country guns, gunpowder, raw materials, pangolin scales and deer antlers from their possession.
Further investigation is on to unearth other details.
Worth mentioning, on July 16, the police seized three guns and arrested three poachers from Simlipal Tiger Reserve.
