Balasore, Oct 8: At least 21 persons were injured after a bus carrying pilgrims from Nepal hit a stationary truck on NH-16 in Soro area of Odisha’s Balasore district this morning.
As per reports, the bus, which was heading towards Puri from Kolkata with 61 passengers on-board, hit the truck from rear on NH-16 near Talanagar under Soro police limits.
Thereafter, some locals jumped to their rescue and alerted Soro police.
On getting the information, police rushed to the spot and rushed the victims to Soro Hospital for treatment. The bus driver was later shifted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) as his health condition deteriorated.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
