20 platoons of police deployed for FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup

Bhubaneswar, Nov 23: As many as 20 platoons of police have been deployed for the upcoming FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2021. The tournament is scheduled to be held at the Kalinga Stadium from 24 November to 5 December 2021. As many as five ASPs, eight DSPs, 26 Inspectors, 72 Officers, 30 Havildars and around 20 platoons of force have been deployed for the event, said Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi. The police forces will be present at the gate, ground, and internal boundary of the stadium with a major responsibility of looking at the security of the players. The negative RT-PCR test report has been made mandatory for all the personnel on duty. However, no audience will be allowed inside the stadium during the tournament.
