Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: Brahmana Nijog Durga Puja Samiti, one of the oldest committees of Old Bhubaneswar, has prepared a backdrop of 170 kg silver for the Goddess.
The committee does not believe in competition but follows its traditional ethos of celebration.
The solapuja of Maa Kapali Devi is going on here since Mulastami while worship of Goddess Durga begins from Sasthi at pandal. Here Maa Kapali Devi is offered macha mahura (a special fish curry).
This year the committee has prepared 18 feet idol and a 40 feet high pandal. The area from Tinimundia Square to Bayababa Korakhai shop will be decorated with lights. Besides, two light gates will be erected. The imersion ceremony will be held using traditional band to avoid sound pollution.
Similarly, Bomikhal Durga Puja Samiti has come up with a unique initiative to showcase human-animal bond to maintain a balanced ecosystem. This year, the puja pandal will be a replica of Hastinapur Palace.
