Baripada, Feb 2: A distressing incident unfolded at MPK Girls School when over 16 students fell seriously ill following the consumption of hostel food on Thursday afternoon.
According to the report, approximately 20 students experienced health issues after partaking in the school lunch. Four of the affected individuals received preliminary treatment at Borigumma Hospital in Koraput district and were subsequently discharged.
However, the remaining 16 students, whose health conditions had worsened, were admitted to the hospital for further care. The school principal reassured that the students' conditions are not critical, expressing optimism about their prompt recovery.
In response to the situation, Baripada MLA visited the hospital to inquire about the well-being of the affected students, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation into the incident to prevent any such occurrences in the future.
