Kathmandu, August 23: At least 14 people were killed after an Indian bus with over 40 passengers onboard fell into the Marsyangdi river in Tanahun district of Nepal.
The bus bearing a number plate of Uttar Pradesh plunged into the river and is lying on the bank of the river. The accident took place when the bus was en route to Kathmandu from Pokhara, said Nepal police.
The Indian Embassy in Nepal, too informed that an Indian tourist bus travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu with around 43 Indians fell 150 meter into Marshyandi river today.
Indian Embassy in Nepal is coordinating with local authorities undertaking relief and rescue.
A team of 45 armed police force personnel from the Armed Police Force Nepal Disaster Management Training School reached the accident site and launched the rescue operation.
