Paradip, Sept 26: As many as 14 fishermen were trapped after two fishing boats, named Dharmashakha-2 and Dharmashakha-3 stranded near the Nehru Bangla sea shore in Paradip today.
The incident occurred due to a technical snag in Dharmashakha-2 while the boat was returning from deep sea after fishing activity. The Dharmashakha-3 attempted to tow the troubled boat back. However, the rope snapped and became entangled in the fan.
Efforts are underway by the Coast Guard and Marine Police to rescue the stranded fishermen and boats.
Worth mentioning, the IMD has advised fishermen not to venture into the sea following a low pressure formation over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal & adjoining Northwest Bay off north Andhra-south Odisha coasts.
