Kantabanji, Aug 22: Protestors observed a 12-hour bandh demanding district status to Kantabanji, in Bolangir district today.
The dawn-to-dusk bandh called by Kantabanji Zilla Sangharsh Samiti hit normal life as schools, colleges, business establishments, and vehicular movement were closed in the town.
However, emergency services including ambulance and healthcare services have been exempted from the purview of the bandh.
The members of the group were seen picketing at strategic locations from early morning.
The agitators threatened to intensify their protest if their demand is not taken into consideration at the earliest
