​​​​​​​Jajpur, Nov 6: A tragic incident occurred on Thursday morning at Garedeswar in Jajpur district, where three children drowned while bathing in the Baitarani River.

According to reports, the incident took place around 11 a.m. when two siblings and their cousin went to the riverbank to bathe. While in the water, all three began to drown. Hearing their cries, a relative raised an alarm, prompting nearby fishermen to rush to the spot.

With the help of locals and the fire service team, two children- one boy and one girl- were rescued. However, the other girl remains missing. Fire service personnel have launched a search and rescue operation, which is still underway.

Local authorities have reached the spot and are assisting in the rescue efforts. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area.
