New Delhi, June 9: As the Narendra Modi-led NDA government marks 11 years in office, BJP President and Union Minister JP Nadda on Monday highlighted the administration’s accomplishments, emphasizing its commitment to good governance, transformative leadership, and decisive policymaking.
Speaking at a press conference, Nadda praised Prime Minister Modi for reshaping India's political culture and establishing a new standard in governance. "We are completing 11 years under PM Modi's leadership. It’s difficult to summarize such a transformative period in a single press conference. The work done during this time is truly historic, marked by exceptional and unprecedented achievements," he said.
Nadda asserted that the political environment in India has undergone a major shift since 2014. "Before, politics often revolved around appeasement and power retention through societal divisions. PM Modi replaced that with a results-oriented approach. Today, we speak of a politics of performance, accountability, and transparency — where the government is answerable to the people," he added.
Reflecting on the administration’s impact, the BJP chief stated, "I can proudly say that over the past 11 years, PM Modi has not only brought stability and economic discipline but has also institutionalized a government that is decisive and effective. This new normal is a testament to the transformative nature of his leadership."
Nadda further lauded the Modi government's efforts toward building a self-reliant and forward-looking India. "This is a people-centric government, one that encourages public participation. Over the years, we have worked towards transparency and futuristic governance. That’s why we speak of 'Viksit Bharat' and call this period the ‘Amrit Kaal’ — a golden era laying the foundation for a developed and self-reliant India," he remarked.
Criticizing the UPA administration prior to 2014, Nadda said it was characterized by widespread corruption and a pervasive sense of pessimism. "The mood of the country has changed. PM Modi has transformed a climate of despair into one of hope and confidence. Today, people proudly say, ‘Modi hai to mumkin hai’ (With Modi, it’s possible)," he said.
He concluded by underscoring the government’s commitment to transformative governance. "PM Modi has stated that this decade will be the foundation for a future developed India. That’s why all our policies are driven by the mantra of 'perform, transform, and reform'," Nadda added.
