Rourkela, Nov 16: In a tragic incident one laborer died while two others sustained critical injuries in a blast at Kalunga Shubh Ispat Private limited in Rourkela in the wee hours on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Chinmay Behera from Jajpur and the injured have been identified as Jayprakash Kishan from Kalunga and Abhishek from Bihar.
The injured labourers were rushed to the nearby hospital and are currently undergoing treatment and their condition is stated to be critical.
While the exact reason behind such mishaps has yet to be ascertained, it has been suspected that the blast occurred due to a suspected leakage in a gas pipe near the workers’ restroom inside the plant.
Meanwhile, the police are yet to reach the spot and start an investigation into the incident.
