Baripada, Feb 8: A Royal Bengal tiger was found dead at Duduruchampa within the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Mayurbhanj district. The tiger's carcass was found near a nullah on February 5, 2024, as reported by the STR field Director. Estimated to be around 3.5 years old, the tiger's demise was uncovered during routine patrol by reserve staff.
“The body of the tiger was discovered during patrolling. As per the guidelines, Post-mortem was conducted on February 6 with the presence of NTCA, Joint Task Force and other representatives. The samples have been sent for examination to Wildlife Health to ascertain the exact reason behind its death”, said Director Prakash Chand Gogineni.
