Bhubaneswar, Feb 22: In a bizarre incident, a driver set his employer's car on fire after getting fired from job for some reason.
The whole incident was recorded on a CCTV camera installed at the employer’s house.
The accused, who has been identified as Abdul Hakim, was driving the car of Ajit Kumar Nayak, a resident of Krishna Garden, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar.
According to the car owner, "my car was an old car and it was not running well too. So we decided to repair the car and asked the driver to search for another job in May 2023. He was with us for four years. However, we hired a new driver after repairing the car. When he came to know about the new hiring, he torched my car to take revenge. As my bike was parked near the car, that also caught fire. Being informed by neighbors, fire personnel reached and doused the flame".
According to sources, the driver was an alcoholic for which the owner did not feel safe with him.
