Bhubaneswar: The election for the Office Bearers of the Amateur Baseball Federation of India was held at Hotel Rosewood, here on Tuesday. Pankaj Lochan Mohanty of Odisha was elected as President unanimously, Arvind Kumar of Haryana became General Secretary as the opponent candidate Dillip of Goa withdrew his nomination for the post.

 

For the post of Treasurer S. Venkatesh of Tamil Nadu defeated Sweta of Telangana by 33–13 votes. Four Vice Presidents, four Joint Secretaries, and four Executive Body Members were elected for a period of four years. Forty-six members from 23 states participated in the election.

 

Justice Debabrata Dash (Retd.) was the Returning Officer of the election and conducted all the election procedures.

 

Pankaj Lochan Mohanty was the President of the Federation from 2016–19 for a period of three years. During his presidency, lots of development projects were initiated for baseball in India. For his popularity and sports administrative experience, he became President of the Federation unopposed.

 

Secretary, Baseball Association of Odisha Sibananda Pradhan and President Prabodh Mohanty congratulated him.
