New Delhi, Aug 13: Ace Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, HS Prannoy, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have withdrawn from BWF Japan Open scheduled to start from August 24.
But the pulling out of badminton players from Japan Open is not limited to Indian shuttlers only. The other prominent withdrawals include Olympic champions Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, Chen Yu Fei, and Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, sources said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, former Olympics medallist Saina Nehwal shared her thoughts on possibility of PV Sindhu, the 29-year-old two time Olympics medal winner playing the Los Angeles Games 2028.
Saina stated it is not just about the desire or the will to play. But it's about how your body will support you as you grow older. If your body supports you, you can play for as long as you want.
However Saina admitted that there are not many young female players in India now, who can be expected to excel at world level competitions after Sindhu.
