Puri, Jan 10: Nine swing doors have been placed along the Parikrama corridor of Puri Srimandir, scheduled to be operated manually by both the police and temple administration during the inauguration of the Parikrama project on January 17.
During a Tuesday meeting attended by Chief Secretary Pradip Kumar Jena, the decision was made to deploy 120 police platoons for the security of VIP guests and the effective management of the Srimandir Parikrama inauguration ceremony.
The Puri collector, Samarth Verma, mentioned that the construction of the corridor, Sri Setu, and Sri Danda is nearly complete. A new approximately one-kilometer-long road, named Sri Danda, has been built parallel to Bada Danda, stretching from the Jagannath Ballav multilevel parking area to Singhadwara. The purpose of this road is to alleviate crowd congestion on Bada Danda.
For devotees arriving by vehicles from Bhubaneswar and Brahmagiri areas, the route involves taking the Sri Setu bypass to reach the Jagannath Ballav parking area. From there, they will utilize Sri Danda as the shortest route to reach the Srimandir, as informed by the Collector.
