Bhubaneswar, Sep 8: Odisha Vigilance on Friday arrested Sudipta Kumar Dash, ASI of Excise of Balugaon circle under Khordha district for possession of disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 173% of his known sources of income, which he could not account for satisfactorily.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No.21 was registered against Dash, ASI U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1) (b) P.C. Amendment Act, 2018.
During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets were unearthed in the name of Sudipta Kumar Dash, ASI and his family members;
1) One double storeyed building at Nayagarh old town with total area of approx 3,000 Sqft.
2) Another double storeyed building at Nayagarh old town
3) 6 plots in and around Nayagarh town.
4) Bank, Postal and Insurance deposits Rs.21,32,700/-.
5) Cash Rs.1,35,520/-.
6) Gold jewellery weighing approx 300 gms.
7) 1 four wheeler (Mahindra Bolero) & 3 two wheelers and household articles worth over Rs.20.39 Lakhs.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income,
Expenditure and assets of Sudipta Kumar Dash were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 173% in excess of his known sources of income.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
