Kandhamal, Dec 22: In a decisive move to combat Left-Wing Terrorism, the Odisha Police has launched a new incentive scheme offering substantial cash rewards for the capture of active Maoists or credible information leading to their arrest.

The Odisha Police have recently posted rewards for the arrest of top Maoist leaders in the Maoist-prone areas of Kandhamal, including Kotguda and Baliguda. The posters, displaying the names of 18 key Maoist leaders, offer a reward of 8 crore 40 lakh rupees.

Among the leaders listed, the most wanted is Ganesh Munda, a member of the Central Committee, with a reward of 2 crore 20 lakh rupees. Other prominent figures, including Sudarshan, Nikhil, Ankita, Shukru, and Nita, who are members of the Independent Journal Committee, have rewards of 65 lakh rupees.

The posters also list rewards for leaders such as Shila, Renu, and others in the Platoon Commanders' division, offering rewards ranging from 32 lakh to 50,000 rupees. Division members, including Mamata, Nakul, Anupa Akash, Bikash Anju, and others, are also included, with a reward amount of 32 lakh rupees.

These posters have been placed in various Maoist-affected areas, including Kotguda, Tumudibandh, and many others in Kandhamal and its surrounding blocks. The Odisha Police have provided two contact numbers for those wishing to report information. The identity of the informants will remain completely confidential.
