
Ayodhya, Oct 10: At least five people were killed and several others injured after a powerful explosion led to the collapse of a house in Pagla Bhari village, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday, officials reported.
Although the exact cause of the explosion remains under investigation, local authorities suspect that it was triggered by a gas cylinder. "The explosion appears to have been caused by a gas cylinder," said Devesh Chaturvedi, a local official.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, emergency teams, including the police, fire department, and local administration swiftly arrived at the scene. As the collapse left several people trapped under the debris, rescue operations are ongoing. "Five people have died in the explosion, several others are injured, and efforts are underway to rescue those still trapped," stated Circle Officer (CO) Shailendra Singh.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken note of the incident, and authorities are continuing their response to the tragedy.
