Cuttack, Nov 11:The Orissa High Court on Tuesday dismissed the bail petition of Al-Qaeda operative Mohd Abdur Rehman.

He is lodged in jail from December 2015 following his arrest on charges of involvement in extremist activities.

Rehman, a resident of Paschimkachha under Salepur in Cuttack district, was arrested by the Delhi Police for his alleged links with the international terrorist organisation Al-Qaeda.

Abdur Rehman was sentenced 7.5- year imprisonment on February 14, 2023.

Rehman was arrested from Jagatpur locality on December 16, 2015, for his alleged links with the terror outfit Al-Qaeda.

Patiala House Court in New Delhi had convicted Rehman under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) on February 10, 2023.
