New Delhi, November 16: Rohini Acharya, daughter of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, opened up on Sunday about the emotional turmoil and family discord that followed the Mahagathbandhan's heavy defeat in the Bihar elections. In an emotional address, she revealed that despite the family rift, she has the blessings of her parents, Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, and reaffirmed that she has been truthful in all her statements about the situation.

Acharya, speaking to reporters, declared, "Whatever I’ve shared on my social media is the truth. I haven’t lied about anything that happened. Rohini speaks the truth, and you can verify this with Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, Rachel Yadav, and Rameez. My father has always stood by me, and my family, including my sisters, were in tears for me yesterday. I feel blessed to have parents like them."

She expressed frustration over the expectation that only daughters should make sacrifices within the family, especially when brothers are expected to play no part in such burdens. "Why is it that only daughters are expected to make sacrifices, while brothers are not held accountable? When I raised questions, my brothers told me to go to my in-laws' house. This treatment led me to make the painful decision to disown my brother," she said.

Rohini, who had previously been an active member of the RJD, revealed that she was now headed to Mumbai to stay with her mother-in-law, who had been concerned about her well-being. "My mother-in-law has been crying since yesterday. She is worried about me," she added.

The family drama escalated when Rohini took to social media to recount the emotional and physical abuse she suffered. In an explosive post on X, she described being "humiliated," "abused," and even facing threats of being hit with a slipper. "Yesterday, I, as a daughter, sister, wife, and mother, was humiliated, abused, and threatened with violence. I stood my ground, refusing to compromise on my self-respect and truth, and for that, I was forced to leave my parental home. I became an orphan in my own house," she wrote, urging others not to endure such humiliation.

In the aftermath of her public outburst, Rohini announced her decision to quit politics. She accused Tejashwi Yadav and his close associate, RJD MP Sanjay Yadav, of being responsible for her expulsion from the family. "I have no family now. Go ask Sanjay Yadav, Rameez, or Tejashwi Yadav. They’re the ones who threw me out," she stated.

The Yadav family's political struggles further compounded the personal rift, with the RJD suffering a poor performance in the Bihar assembly elections, securing just 25 seats despite contesting on over 140 seats in the 243-member assembly.

As of now, there has been no official response from the RJD or the Yadav family members regarding Rohini Acharya's allegations.
