Chandabali, Dec 24: In a disturbing incident in Bhadrak district, a minor girl has been allegedly raped and murdered, with her body found abandoned in a forest. The incident occurred near the Baligaaan Panchayat office, under the Chandbali police station jurisdiction. The girl’s body was recovered from a remote forest area in the evening after she went missing earlier in the day.

According to reports, the girl, daughter of Bulu Das, a resident of Baligaan, left for school around 10 am but didn’t return home. After hours of waiting, her family and villagers began a search for her. Despite extensive searches throughout the day, it was only in the evening that her body was found in a secluded area of the nearby forest. Her family has accused someone of raping and murdering the girl.

Meanwhile, the local residents staged a protest by blocking the road at Baligaan Chowk demanding justice by burning tyres. The police tried to pacify the situation and reassure the public.

Bhadrak's Superintendent of Police (SP), Manoj Rout, confirmed that an investigation is underway based on the allegations.
