New Delhi, December 21: Meditation is crucial for India's collective journey towards becoming a Viksit Bharat, not just as an economic powerhouse but as a spiritual leader on the global stage, said Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan. He made these remarks at the World Meditation Day event held at Kanha Shanti Vanam, the global headquarters of Heartfulness, located near Hyderabad. The event saw the participation of over 30,000 attendees in person at the world's largest meditation hall, with an additional million people joining virtually.

Themed "One World, One Heart," the meditation session was guided by Daaji, the spiritual leader of Heartfulness and President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission. Key dignitaries present included Vice President Radhakrishnan, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, and Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu.

Vice President Radhakrishnan praised the Heartfulness movement for its dedication to promoting peace, harmony, and spiritual wellbeing. He highlighted how Heartfulness meditation is being embraced by the police force in Madhya Pradesh, with positive transformations in their consciousness.

Daaji, as the global spiritual guide, has made meditation accessible to people of all ages and cultures. His teachings emphasize balance, compassion, and inner transformation, advocating for conscious living to create a healthier society.

In his address, the Vice President explained that meditation nurtures inner peace and mental clarity. "India’s spiritual wisdom, passed down through the rishis and encapsulated in the Vedas, Upanishads, and the Gita, has made significant contributions to the world. The ultimate source of all wisdom leads to the union of the individual soul with the Supreme," he said.
