Bhubaneswar, January 27: Odisha’s Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida, on Tuesday encouraged citizens to mark special occasions, such as birthdays, by sharing fruits with Anganwadi children to help fight malnutrition.

Speaking at an event at the State Institute for Women & Children (SIWC), Parida emphasized the importance of local, nutritious food and educating mothers at the grassroots level to improve child health.

She also inaugurated the ‘Panchatatwa Park’, a unique space representing the five elements of nature, and launched the ‘SUPOSHIT Odisha Mission’ (SOM). Parida laid the foundation for the Subhadra Resource Centre and a modern auditorium at SIWC, with a Rs 35.70 crore investment. These facilities are aimed at building capacity, research, and policy initiatives for women and children.

The Deputy Chief Minister further announced an increase in financial support for preschool children under the Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
