​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday reviewed the progress of the IDCO ‘Kalamandal’ auditorium, that’s under construction near Sainik School Bhubaneswar.

In the meeting held at the Lok Seva Bhawan, Majhi urged the executing agency to complete the sophisticated auditorium by May 2026.

The ‘Kalamandal’ auditorium, the largest ever convention center with amphitheatre in Odisha, is being built by IDCO on 9.85 acres near Sainik School at an estimated cost of Rs 173 crore.The complex will feature a 2,000-seat main auditorium and a 500-seat open-air theatre, as per the DPR prepared by the IDCO.

The meeting was attended by Odia Language, Literature, Culture, and Sports Minister Suryavanshi Suraj, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Saswat Mishra, Finance Principal Secretary Sanjeev Mishra, Sports Department Commissioner-cum-Secretary Sachin Ramchandra Yadav, Culture Secretary Vijay Ketan Upadhyay, Sports Director Edula Vijay, among other allied officials.
