Suicide of Odia woman in Bengaluru: husband arrested

Bengaluru, 25/12: Ratikanta Rath, husband of Barsha Priyadarshini, was arrested in connection with his wife's mysterious death in Bengaluru. While Barsha's parental family blamed her husband and in-laws for her death alleging that she was forced to commit suicide as they were perpetrating torture on her, her in-laws on the other hand denied the charge. {"id":22594,"sizeSlug":"large"} Barsha, a senior executive of Biocon company, was reportedly found hanging in her house at Okil Mongolia in Bengaluru on last Saturday ( December 21) night. Reports said Barsha's husband Ratikanta Rath, who was working in an earth mover company, was arrested and forwarded to court while her parent-in-laws were detained for interrogation. Her sister-in-law (sister of her husband) has absconded. {"id":22595,"sizeSlug":"large"} Cremation of Barsha was performed after her post mortem. Police said further action would be taken after receipt of the post mortem report. Meanwhile, Barsha's three year-old son has been handed over to her parents in presence of police. Barsha's ATM card and other materials have also been handed to her parents. The death of Barsha, resident of Ambil village under Konark police station, has sent shockwaves in the entire Puri district.
