Bhubaneswar, Jan 7: The Odisha Government's Department of School and Mass Education announced on Tuesday that candidates who have completed the two-year B.Ed in Special Education course are now eligible to appear for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) under Category II.

Previously, only candidates with a one-year B.Ed in Special Education qualification were permitted to take the examination.

The revised eligibility criteria are expected to open up greater opportunities for aspiring special education teachers across the state. The Department stated that this move is aimed at strengthening inclusive education by increasing the number of qualified teachers available to support schools for children with special needs.

Candidates meeting the updated criteria can apply in the upcoming OTET cycle, in accordance with the official notification.
