Phulbani, Jan 28: Police on Tuesday destroyed illegal cannabis cultivation spread across 92 acres of land in Dadingipanga, Dangapadar and nearby areas under Kainjhar Panchayat of Tikabali police station in Kandhamal district.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Tikabali IIC Prajna Ritambara Kar, with the participation of around 60 police personnel along with revenue department officers and staff.

During the operation, police cut and burnt nearly 92,000 cannabis plants, completely destroying the illegal crop.

Following the crackdown, a case has been registered at Tikabali police station (Case No. 26/2026) under Section 20(a)(i) of the NDPS Act. Police have launched an investigation to identify those involved in the illegal cultivation.
