Bhubaneswar, Dec 1: The International Day of Persons with Disabilities began today with the inauguration of a special exhibition at SOA Stadium. The three-day event is being organized with the support of the State Department of Social Security and Persons with Disabilities Empowerment.

Departmental Minister Nityananda Gond attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest and formally opened the exhibition. Ekamra MLA Babu Singh and Department Secretary R. Santhagopalan were also present on the occasion.

The exhibition showcases a wide variety of household products, sports equipment, and other items crafted by persons with disabilities, highlighting their skills and creativity. In addition, sports competitions for differently-abled athletes were held at the stadium, making the observance both informative and engaging.

The event aims to promote awareness, inclusion, and empowerment of persons with disabilities across the state.
