Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: “Biju Janata Dal is the party of the people of Odisha. I have always been with you and will continue to be. I will serve Mother Odisha till the very end,” said BJD President and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.
While participating in the ‘Jana Sampark Yatra’ of the party, Patnaik reached out to the people and took part in a ‘padyatra’ organized in Ganga Nagar Palli under Ekamra Assembly constituency in Bhubaneswar.
This was Patnaik’s first major public appearance after falling ill in June. Party leaders and workers were visibly excited to see him up close after such a long gap.
To welcome him, each house displayed decorative pots at the entrance. Traditional designs adorned the surroundings, while women stood ready with flower-filled plates to greet him warmly.
As Patnaik walked through the streets, people welcomed him with flowers. The area echoed with slogans of “Naveen Patnaik Zindabad!”
The event, organized under the leadership of BJD District President Ashok Panda, saw participation from senior leaders like Debi Prasad Mishra, MP Debashish Samantaray, Sulata Deo, MLAs Dibya Shankar Mishra, Susant Kumar Rout, Ananta Narayan Jena, Bibhuti Bhusan Balabantaray, Mayor Sulochana Das, Pranab Kumar Balabantaray, and others.
