Delhi, October 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, who has been admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru and enquired about his health. He conveyed his best wishes for a swift and complete recovery.

The Congress veteran is scheduled to get a pacemaker implanted

In a message on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said, “Spoke to Kharge Ji. Enquired about his health and wished him a speedy recovery. Praying for his continued well-being and long life.”

The 83-year-old leader was admitted to the M S Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru on Tuesday, sources said.

“Sri Kharge was advised pacemaker to be implanted and is admitted to the hospital for the planned procedure. He is stable and doing well. Grateful to all of you for your concern and wishes,” Priyank Kharge, the son of the Congress veteran and Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge said in apost on ‘X’.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited Kharge, who is also the leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, at the hospital on Wednesday.
