New Delhi, January 6:The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that 2.89 crore voters have been removed from the draft electoral roll during the Special Revision of Rolls (SIR) process in Uttar Pradesh. Out of the 15.44 crore voters initially listed, 12.55 crore (81.30%) names were retained in the draft roll, according to Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Navdeep Rinwa.
Speaking at a press conference, CEO Rinwa stated, “The final voter list will be issued on March 6, 2026, following the SIR process. We encourage voters to verify their details by entering their EPIC number on the official website. If their name is missing, they should submit Form 6.”
Forms 6 and 7 can be submitted online or physically for requests related to inclusion or objections in the voter list. Form 6 should be used for adding names to the list, while Form 7 is for objections. For corrections or changes in details such as address, Form 8 should be filled out.
Rinwa emphasized, "The first step is for voters to check their name in the draft list published today. They have one month to raise any concerns."
Voters can easily check their name by entering basic details like name, district, assembly constituency, or polling station information. The ECI has urged all voters to do so promptly to ensure their participation in the upcoming elections.
