Thakurnagar (WB), Nov 25:West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday led a significant anti-SIR march, spanning 3 kilometers from Bongaon’s Chandpara to Thakurnagar, the heart of the Matua community in North 24 Parganas district. The protest was aimed at opposing the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state's electoral rolls.

The march followed a rally held in Bongaon town, located near the India-Bangladesh border, where Banerjee addressed supporters against the SIR process. The procession ended at Dhakuria school in Thakurnagar, a location central to the Matua community, a key electoral base for the Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Banerjee led the rally with a sea of supporters, all carrying blue and white balloons, waving TMC flags, and chanting slogans against the SIR initiative, marking yet another vocal demonstration from the TMC against state electoral processes.
