PM Modi to flag Off 4 New Vande Bharat Trains From Varanasi, Boosting National Connectivity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to give another major push to Indian Railways expansion today by flagging off four new Vande Bharat trains during his two-day visit to Varanasi. This significant launch highlights a continued focus on enhancing modern train travel and connectivity across the nation.

The new semi-high-speed trains will connect key destinations in North, South, and Central India, promising to slash travel times and improve the passenger experience on several important routes.

New Routes and Key Benefits

One of the most anticipated services is the Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express. This train will be a massive boon for tourism, directly connecting the spiritual city of Varanasi with the famed temple town of Khajuraho, passing through other key religious centres like Prayagraj and Chitrakoot. This new train route is expected to cut the journey time by approximately two hours and 40 minutes.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Lucknow-Saharanpur Vande Bharat will streamline travel by covering the distance in about seven hours and 45 minutes, saving passengers nearly an hour. Crucially, this route will also improve access for pilgrims heading to the holy city of Haridwar via Roorkee.

Further north, the Firozpur-Delhi Vande Bharat will become the fastest train on this corridor, completing the journey in just six hours and 40 minutes. This service will significantly strengthen connectivity between the national capital and important cities in Punjab.

South India also receives a boost with the Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat. This train will connect two major economic and technology hubs, reducing travel time by over two hours and completing the trip in eight hours and 40 minutes.

This latest Varanasi launch reinforces the government's commitment to modernising the rail network. For passengers in Odisha, who have already welcomed Vande Bharat services connecting cities like Puri, Rourkela, and Howrah, this national expansion is promising. It signals a wider trend towards faster, more comfortable, and more efficient rail travel for all Indians.
