India joins global leaders for Middle East stability roadmap

Vital diplomatic developments suggest that India has been invited to join the newly formed Gaza Board of Peace. According to high-level sources, this invitation comes directly from US President Donald Trump as his administration moves to formalise a structure aimed at ending the conflict and stabilizing the region.

The White House officially unveiled the list of appointees for this initiative on Friday. This board is a central pillar of President Trump's "20-Point Peace Plan," specifically designed to oversee the second phase of the roadmap. The primary goal is to ensure lasting stability, attract investment, and manage the massive reconstruction efforts required in Gaza.

High-Profile Appointments

President Trump will serve as the Chairman of the Board. The list of members features prominent global figures, including World Bank President Ajay Banga, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. Other key appointees include US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Apollo Global Management CEO Marc Rowan.

The White House explained that these members will manage specific portfolios essential for the region's recovery. Their responsibilities will cover governance capacity-building, mobilizing capital, and fostering regional relations. To ensure disciplined execution of these strategies, Aryeh Lightstone and Josh Gruenbaum have been named as senior advisors to handle day-to-day operations.

Governance and Security on the Ground

Beyond the high-level board, the plan establishes the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG). This body will be led by Ali Sha'ath, a respected technocratic leader. His role involves restoring public services and rebuilding civil institutions to normalize daily life for citizens.

Acting as the link between the Gaza Board of Peace and the local committee is Nickolay Mladenov, who has been appointed as the High Representative.

Security remains a top priority in this roadmap. To maintain peace and ensure a terror-free environment, Major General Jasper Jeffers has been appointed Commander of the International Stabilisation Force (ISF). He will lead operations to support demilitarisation and ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid. The board also includes representation from the region, with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Qatari diplomat Ali Al Thawadi listed among the members.
