Bengaluru, December 6: In response to the widespread cancellations of IndiGo flights, the South Western Railway (SWR) has announced the operation of special trains to assist passengers left stranded across the country. The initiative, coordinated with the Central, South Eastern, and Southern Railways, aims to address the surge in demand for transport.

The special services will run from December 6 to December 10, covering high-demand routes such as Bengaluru–Chennai, Bengaluru–Pune, Yesvantpur–Hazrat Nizamuddin, Shalimar–Yelahanka, and Ernakulam–Yelahanka.

According to SWR officials, the following trains will be operational:

  • Train No. 06255/06256: Chennai Egmore to KSR Bengaluru
  • Train No. 06257/06258: Bengaluru to MGR Chennai Central
  • Train No. 06259/06260: Yesvantpur to Hazrat Nizamuddin
  • Train No. 06263/06264: Bengaluru to Pune

These services are expected to help ease the travel woes of passengers affected by the flight cancellations.
