New Delhi, November 10: A devastating explosion rocked Delhi on Monday evening, as a powerful blast tore through a car parked near the historic Red Fort. The high-intensity explosion has resulted in multiple fatalities, with at least eight confirmed dead. Several others have been injured and are receiving treatment at LNJP Hospital.

Delhi police have heightened security in the city, though the exact cause of the explosion remains uncertain. It has not yet been confirmed whether the incident was caused by a bomb blast.

The explosion was so intense that it shattered windows of nearby vehicles and buildings several meters away from the blast site. Authorities quickly dispatched seven fire tenders to the scene, while police cordoned off the affected area.

“The blast occurred near Gate No. 1 of Red Fort metro station, in a car parked in the vicinity. The force of the explosion was immense, and we are concerned that the number of casualties could rise,” a senior official from Delhi Fire Services reported.

Footage from the scene shows large plumes of smoke and fire billowing from the burning vehicles, further heightening concerns about the scale of the incident. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events leading up to the explosion.
