​​​​​​​Bhubaneswar, Dec 31: Renowned Odia lyricist Abhijit Majumdar who is undergoing treatment for multiple ailments including high blood pressure and chronic liver disease, is doing well.

He is expected to be discharged from the AIIMS Bhubaneswar after a few days, medical sources said.

AIIMS authorities in their recent bulletin said that, Abhijit’s condition is gradually improving following prolonged interventions. He is expected to be discharged soon as he is out of danger, that needs immediate & intensive care, the authorities informed on Wednesday.

AIIMS Bhubaneswar Executive Director Dr Ashutosh Biswas confirmed that the composer’s condition is improving steadily over the past few weeks, it’s why he does not need any ventilator support now.

Based on the findings of the panel of doctors entrusted for Majumdar’s comprehensive treatment, he might be discharged for homecare & medication, Biswas added.

Majumdar was admitted to the emergency department of AIIMS Bhubaneswar on September 4 in a critical state. Soon, he was placed on ventilator support as his health condition further worsened despite the sincere efforts of a team of doctors.
