Bhubaneswar, Jan 15: A young man lost his life after accidentally falling into an open drain in the Odisha capital on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at the Saliasahi slum area of the city. The deceased has been identified as Sinu Gagarai, a resident of the slum, according to reports.

Sources said the youth slipped and fell into a newly constructed drain, sustaining severe head injuries.

Local residents rushed to his rescue and immediately took him to Capital Hospital in a critical condition. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.
