Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: A fresh low-pressure system is brewing over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cyclonic circulation is likely to intensify into a low-pressure area over the southeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal by Friday. The system is expected to move in a west-northwesterly direction and may develop into a depression around October 26.

Currently, parts of Odisha are likely to experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms. However, rainfall activity is expected to increase across the state on October 27 and 28.

As per the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, a few districts in south Odisha may receive rain and thunder on Friday, while weather in other regions will remain mostly dry. On October 25, coastal and south Odisha are likely to witness thundershowers at isolated places.

Rainfall intensity is set to rise on October 27 and 28, affecting many parts of the state. From October 29 onwards, rainfall activity is likely to decrease, with no significant weather changes expected thereafter.
