Balangir, Dec 25: Amid the festivity of Christmas, a man in Odisha’s Balangir district hacked his wife to death on Thursday being aggrieved over a domestic dispute.
The incident took place at the Jarlakani village under the Deogaon Police limit late at night on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Tapa Mallik, while the accused is Madhab Mallik.
According to reports, locals spoted the woman’s body on Thursday from a pool of blood and informed police.
Police seized the body and sent it for post-mortem after an inquest.
Further investigation is underway while efforts are on to nab the culprit.
