Baramati, Jan 28: A chartered plane flying from Mumbai to Baramati, Maharashtra, crash-landed at 8:45 am on Wednesday morning. Preliminary reports suggest that Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) chief Ajit Pawar was onboard the aircraft. Pawar was en route to Baramati to attend a public rally for the upcoming Zilla Parishad Elections.

Further details about the incident, including the cause of the crash and the condition of those onboard, are still awaited. Authorities are currently investigating the situation.

Ajit Pawar had been in Mumbai on Tuesday, where he participated in a meeting of the Maharashtra Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The meeting also saw the presence of Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and other concerned officials.
