Nuapada, Feb 9: In a rare and joyful event, a woman from Chaukpada village in Kurumpuri Panchayat, Komna block, has given birth to four children at once. Both the mother and the quadruplets are reported to be healthy.

Two years ago, Bhojaraj Majhi of Chaukpada had married Pushpa, a resident of Mahasamund district, Chhattisgarh. This year, Pushpa became pregnant for the first time and was at her maternal home in Mahasamund when labor began.

She was admitted to the Mother and Child Department of Mahasamund District Hospital. Doctors performed a cesarean section during the night, delivering four baby girls safely.

For specialized care, the newborns have been transferred to the Government Mekahara Hospital in Raipur. Authorities confirmed that both the mother and the babies are in stable condition.
