Young cricketers dominate Harare as India claims historic World Cup glory

India’s young cricket stars have etched their names in history by clinching the ICC Men's Under-19 World Cup title. In a high-stakesIND Under-19 vs ENG Under-19final held at the Harare Sports Club, the Boys in Blue delivered a masterclass performance to defeat England by a massive 100-run margin.

Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, India set the stage on fire. The highlight of the innings was a breathtaking knock by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The young opener dismantled the English bowling attack, scoring a sensational 175 runs off just 80 deliveries. His explosive innings included 15 boundaries and 15 towering sixes. Captain Ayush Mhatre supported him well with a solid 53, helping India reach a mammoth total of 411/9 in their allotted 50 overs. Despite James Minto taking three wickets for England, the Indian batters remained in complete control throughout the first half.

Chasing a daunting target of 412, England struggled to keep up with the required run rate. While Caleb Falconer fought a lonely battle with a brilliant 115 off 67 balls, the rest of the lineup crumbled under pressure. Ben Dawkins contributed 66, but the Indian bowling unit proved too strong. RS Ambrish led the attack with clinical precision, picking up 3 wickets for 56 runs. He was well-supported by Kanishk Chouhan and Deepesh Devendran, who took two wickets each.

The English innings eventually folded for 311 in 40.2 overs. This victory marks another golden chapter for Indian junior cricket, proving the immense depth of talent in the country. Fans across Odisha and the rest of India are celebrating this spectacular achievement as the U19 team brings the trophy home.
