Angul, Mar 18: In a dramatic turn of events, a youth attempting self-immolation by pouring kerosene on himself in front of the Bagadia police station was rescued by local police and admitted to Chhendipada Health Centre for treatment.

According to reports, the incident took place yesterday evening when Kahnu Charan Sahu from Tangiri village arrived at Bagadia police station with a case-related grievance. After a delay in receiving a copy of the official report, the distressed youth attempted to set himself on fire using kerosene outside the police station.

Police personnel quickly intervened, preventing any fatal harm, and immediately admitted him to the health centre for necessary medical care. Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the extreme step.
