Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: In a major relief for his fans and the Jatra community, Piyush Tripathy, the popular Jatra actor, has been granted permission by a Bhubaneswar court to resume his stage performances with immediate effect. The court lifted the interim restraining order that had previously barred him from performing, bringing immense joy to theatre lovers eagerly awaiting his return.
Piyush Tripathy, renowned for his impactful dialogue delivery and emotionally charged performances, is set to return to the Jatra stage today. His performances have long been a favorite among audiences, who have missed his presence in the theatre. The actor’s counsel confirmed that the court granted permission after hearing arguments from both parties and reviewing the matter.
Earlier, Surya Mandir Natya Anushthan had filed a complaint against Tripathy on December 5, alleging that the actor violated a two-year contractual agreement. Following this, the Bhubaneswar court had imposed an interim restriction on his stage performances, halting his professional engagements and causing disappointment among his fans and colleagues in the theatre community.
However, after considering the submissions from both sides, the court decided to lift the interim restraining order, allowing Piyush Tripathy to return to the stage. Reacting to the court's decision, Tripathy expressed his gratitude to his fans and well-wishers, saying there could be no better news for him. He also offered prayers to Lord Jagannath for helping him overcome this challenging phase in his career.
The actor’s lawyer, Ajay Kumar Gadnayak, confirmed that the restraining order had been lifted and that the actor is now free to perform in Jatra shows.
This decision marks a significant turning point in Tripathy's career and has delighted his admirers, who are now eagerly anticipating his return to live performances.
