​​​​​​​Jamshedpur, February 26: President of India Droupadi Murmu graced the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony of the Shri Jagannath Temple in Jamshedpur, organized by the Shri Jagannath Spiritual and Cultural Charitable Centre Trust. During the event, the President remarked that Mahaprabhu Jagannath is the Lord of the universe, whose divine grace extends equally to all humanity, transcending any form of discrimination.

In an official statement, the President highlighted the cultural significance of the Kolhan region, noting how it beautifully merges the vibrant tribal traditions with other spiritual practices of India. "The people of Kolhan have preserved their ancient traditions, and the region is a prime example of communal harmony, with individuals from various backgrounds living together in peace. This unity is a vital aspect of devotion to Mahaprabhu Jagannath," she said.

Addressing the ongoing global conflicts and wars, the President expressed her concerns, acknowledging the sorrow they bring. However, she emphasized the rising devotion to Mahaprabhu Jagannath and the growing respect for Indian spirituality worldwide. "The increasing spiritual inclination of people offers hope that Mahaprabhu Jagannath will safeguard the well-being of the global community," she added.

The President further emphasized that in India's spiritual tradition, love and compassion for all living beings and plants are paramount, with charity being regarded as the highest virtue.
