Bhubaneswar: All Odisha Chess Association (AOCA) and the Iconic Sports Federation (ISF) are all set to host Iconic Odisha Chess Premier League 2025 here from 14–16 November 2025 at Hotel Hindustan International, the auction to be held on 6th November.
A total of 12 franchise teams will compete in the event, with each team comprising eight players in which six will be playing. Out of these, four players must be from Odisha, and one women player is mandatory on every team — a step aimed at promoting local and gender-inclusive participation.
Each team will be owned by a franchise, taken up by companies, builders, and business groups. The team franchise auction is scheduled for 6th November 2025 here at Hotel Lemon Tree. The last date for franchise signup and auction participation is 7th November 2025, with an auction purchase limit of ₹2 lakhs per team and a non-refundable entry fee of ₹1 lakh. Player registrations closed on 18th October 2025.
The league will feature a total cash award of Rs 10 lakhs. The first, second and third place holders will receive a cash award of Rs 5 lakhs, Rs 3 lakhs and Rs 2 lakhs respectively.
An impressive 190 players have already registered to participate, making this one of the largest chess leagues ever hosted in the state.
