New Delhi, January 27: The process to impeach Allahabad High Court judge, Justice Yashwant Varma, is currently underway, with the government awaiting the findings of a three-member committee formed by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju confirmed on Tuesday.

The committee, which was established on August 12 of the previous year, is tasked with investigating corruption allegations against Justice Varma, following the acceptance of a multi-party notice seeking his removal.

Justice Varma had been repatriated from the Delhi High Court to the Allahabad High Court after burnt currency notes were discovered at his official residence on March 14.
